The Gourmet Gannet is specialty bakery and kitchen on State Highway 16 in Huapai, Auckland.
Known locally as 'Flutey's' after the previous owners Greg and Debbie FluteyAllison took over the bakery in April 2014.
Allison specialises scratch hand made breads and pastries working through the night to bring you mouthwatering crusty sourdoughs, ciabattas as well as more unusual breads along with traditional doughnuts, french pastries and other baked treats.
Hours are 7am to 2pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Born and raised in the UK, Allison Mawer began her catering career with an apprenticeship while studying for her catering diplomas in French cuisine at Southport Technical College. After many years working within the trade in Liverpool, London and Germany she finally arrived in New Zealand in 2000.
After several years pursuing another career in Human Resources Allison has come full circle back to her original trade and passion.
Alli also runs a popular food blog and is founder of the New Zealand Food Bloggers Association.
