Gourmet Gannet is a small bakery with a big heart. It’s success is attributed to a team of talented and dedicated people who strive to create and be their best every day.

Our focus is on quality, making everything from scratch and sourcing local seasonal ingredients as much as possible. We are a plant based bakery and only use ‘free range’ eggs from ethical farmers. We buy from our local farmers market at Catalina Bay to ensure premium produce goes into our baking. You’ll find the best rye and spelt flours not only in our bread but also in our sweet goods and we try to use Manuka honey, date syrups and less refined sugars where possible.

Why is our sourdough so good? Because the process takes over 30 hours. Starting with the first ferment , through to bulk fermenting, hand shaping and a final overnight rest before baking which starts at 3am in the morning.

As with everything we make at Gourmet Gannet Kitchen, our bread, cakes, and pastries are all freshly made from scratch daily with seasonal and local produce. Some of our customer favorites are English Eccles cakes, Bakewell Tarts. Portuguese Custard Tarts, Pistachio Frangipane Tarts, Seasonal Teacakes, Belgium Choc Chuck Rye Cookies and our famous Pecan Pie, Salted Caramel Brownie & Burnt Butter Blondie.

We are also happy to make birthday cakes to order for you or perhaps you might like a special tart or dessert for a dinner party. Please pop into the shop to discuss or give us a call. All celebration cake orders require a weeks notice, customized cakes and tier cakes require 2 weeks.

Our regular whole cakes prices range between $32 and $90. Custom cakes, including tier cakes and larger party cakes are priced according to size and ingredient. We also specialize in vegan cake to order.
